Mackinder Forum Launches ‘Taking Stock’ Series on the Conflicts Reshaping the Global Strategic Landscape
PR Newswire
NEW YORK, Oct. 14, 2026
Leading experts examine what is happening now, what could happen next, and what it means for global systems.
NEW YORK, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Mackinder Forum announces a new lecture series, Taking Stock, offering rigorous analysis of the wars, tensions, and potential conflicts shaping the global strategic landscape.

Designed for national security professionals, entrepreneurs, academics, and others who are looking for serious geopolitical analysis, the twice-monthly digital series will connect current events to the broader questions they raise for business, policy, history and the global balance of power.
Mackinder Forum president, Leonard Hochberg says, “As current conflicts evolve and potentially move toward conclusions, others appear on the horizon. Military outcomes will shape how these wars end, but they will also dictate the negotiations, domestic politics, alliances, economic pressures, and other forces that will influence what happens next. The Taking Stock series asks two fundamental questions: Where do the United States and its allies stand today, and what can we see around the corner?”
The twice-monthly digital series begins October 21, 2026, with Gordon Chang presenting Taking Stock I: China’s Project to Annex Taiwan and the Pacific Ocean.
Future lectures will cover topics including the war in Ukraine, the Middle East, and security on NATO’s eastern flank.
