About the Author

Tracey Lee is an Australian fiction writer whose work is known for compelling storylines and perceptive explorations of human behavior. Raised in Launceston, Tasmania, in a home filled with books and storytelling, Lee began writing as a child before pursuing a distinguished career in education.

An English and Behavioural Science educator for nearly four decades, Lee has taught in Tasmania, Western Australia, Canberra, and New South Wales. In 1994, she became a founding member of a writing group called The Aphorism Club, which published an anthology of members’ work in 1999. The group became an important influence on her development as a fiction writer and later inspired the name of her novel.

Lee completed a Master’s degree in Creative Writing at the University of Canberra in 2005. Her fiction frequently examines ordinary people responding to extraordinary circumstances, with particular interest in motivation, resilience, identity, and the forces that disrupt human equilibrium. She now lives on the far south coast of New South Wales, where she continues to pursue her lifelong passion for writing.
