Verily Health Inc., a healthcare data intelligence company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to continue supporting the national wastewater-based infectious disease surveillance program, building on the work that the company has performed for the CDC since 2023.

Under the new award, Verily Health will support CDC’s National Wastewater Surveillance System through Verily Sightline, combining wastewater science, laboratory testing, data analytics, and technology to track infectious disease trends and support public health decision-making. The expanded program will continue pathogen testing, pathogen genomic sequencing, and include potential metagenomic capabilities, giving public health officials additional tools to monitor infectious diseases and respond to emerging threats.

“We’re proud to continue our work with the CDC on a program that strengthens national public health surveillance,” said Stephen Gillett, Chairman and CEO of Verily Health. “At Verily Health, we are building the data foundation for the future of healthcare intelligence, bringing together complex health data, scientific expertise, and advanced analytics to generate actionable insights that accelerate research and improve healthcare.”
